Description
2009 studio album from award winning Bluester Ian Siegal
It has been said that had Siegal been around in the sixties he would today be accorded the same reverence as artists such as Van Morrison, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton. Instead, he is a child of the seventies who dropped out of art college in the late eighties to go busking in Germany. From the streets of Berlin Siegal progressed to clubs around Nottingham, then to London and ultimately to major stages around Europe. On Broadside, the UK's most dynamic contemporary bluesman shows he is not only a killer singer and imaginative songwriter, but also stylistically adventurous. This all-original album, with eight of the ten tracks written by Siegal, starts in familiar Siegal territory but then broadens to cover his love of all things Americana, resulting in his most exciting and perhaps most commercial release to date.
