Description
Born Leon Bix Beiderbecke on March 10th 1903 in Davenport, Iowa, he was by his early twenties the first white musician to make any significant contribution to Jazz. Anyone who saw the BBC's series 'Ken Burn's Jazz' will be well versed in the incredible influence his playing had on the next generation of jazz musicians. His fame is all the more unique when considering the fact that his death at the age of 28 in 1931 meant that he was at the peak of his influence for less than five years. Tracks include 'Thou Swell', 'Raisin' The Roof', 'Goose Pimples', 'Jazz Me Blues' and 'Sorry'.
