Description
King Oliver played in Kid Ory's band, one of the first all black New Orleans jazz bands. His unique cornet style held sway until the arrival of Louis Armstrong. Oliver moved to Chicago in 1919 and formed the first of his many influential bands. Armstrong joined him in 1922 . During the next couple of years the recordings that Oliver made became some of the most influential in Jazz history. Tracks include; 'Riverside Blues','Working Man Blues', 'Wa, Wa, Wa', 'Stingaree Blues', 'Sugarfoot Stomp'.
