Description
Atlas Records was a short lived California based label formed in 1942 which had several major claims to fame ' it was the first label to record Johnny Moore's Three Blazers, Charles Brown and Frankie Laine and released some of the earliest recordings by Nat King Cole. The label had ceased to exist after 1948 but not before providing some ultra rare rockin' R&B and jive from Luke Jones, The Four Vagabonds and Red Mack. The majority of these titles are making their world-wide CD debut and will no doubt help rekindle the collector market. Extensive liners by expert Dave Penny and rare photos explain the labels history.
