Description
The great bassist Buster Williams with his friends Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Shunzo Ohno and Al Foster.
AlthoughBuster Williams has recorded with a glittering cast list of musical associates since he first performed professionally in 1959, he has made just a handful of albums under his own name. This one is especially noteworthy since, in addition to showcasing Williams's superlative bass playing and compositional prowess, it has the substantial bonus of having Herbie Hancock on piano and Wayne Shorter on tenor and soprano saxophones. ''I set out to make an album of good, entertaining music.'' says Buster. ''But there is a spiritual quality about the music and it represents the way I hear and see things''.
In March of 1989 Buster and his friends went intoRudy van Gelder's Recording Studio in New Jersey to record this very special recording. The legendary Rudy van Gelder digitally recorded, mixed and mastered ''Something More''.
