Description
This DVD charts the rise of Reggaeton, that galvanized the Puerto Rican economy and became an unstoppable force in urban music scenes around the world. It explores the DIY youth quake that started in house parties and on the streets of San Juan; of rappers influenced by New York hip-hop, rhyming to sampled salsa and dancehall beats, recording their creations and selling thousands of units from the trunks of their cars. The film includes interviews with Reggaeton pioneers DJ Negro and DJ Playero, who produced and distributed the most influential early artists of the genre, Vico C, the Eminem of early Reggaeton, and international stars Daddy Yankee and The Luny Tunes, among many others.
