'Playing the 60s' features guest vocalists Spencer Day, Kenny Washington, Kalil Wilson and bassist Stanley Clarke. It is a fun and exciting release that touches on the nostalgic as well as the contemporary. It includes timeless movie themes, popular TV classics and celebrated songs ranging from 'Mission Impossible,' 'The Good, The Bads and the Ugly,' and 'Meet the Flintstones' to 'Georgia on My Mind' and 'A Taste of Honey.'
As a burgeoning young master growing up in Copenhagen , listening to a Miles Davis cassette introduced Mads to the 60s sounds of Jazz, Soul and early R&B. Inspired to explore his own creative voice, the result is an exhilarating and thrilling musical adventure, with Mads guiding us to places we didn't know a violin could go.
'Playing the 60s' has received stellar reviews in DownBeat Magazine and San Francisco Examiner, 5 stars in All About Jazz, and it spent two months on the top 40 on Jazz Radio in the US, peaking at number 5.
