Description
Tough Texas Blues at Their Best
By 1998, U.P. Wilson was a legend of the Dallas/Fort Worth scene whose fame, amazingly, had not spread wider in the US. Ironically, he was now enjoying considerable success in Europe. Strangely, he was never picked up by an American label. Now here's a record of U.P.'s unique show - his tough blues guitar and all his tricks and showmanship - to show American blues fans what they missed. And this is a high quality DVD - the team involved are all television and film professionals and those are the standards they brought to the project. As well as the show there is a fascinating interview with U.P. and a rare chance to see a great musician at his soundcheck -with some terrific music played as he finalises things. Maybe somewhere in the bars of Texas is his replacement, learning his trade and waiting for middle age to get his break. Until then here's U.P. Wilson - the toughest blues guitarist you could possibly wish for.Recorded at: The 100 Club, London, March, 1998.
