Description
This concert was recorded in March 2004, incl. highlights from "Shining Brother Shining Sister" and his first hit "Call Mother A Lonely Field".
Perhaps Scotland's greatest singer/songwriter, Jackie Leven is a master of mature melody, blurring the lines between pure folk and sophisticated pop. Truly great songs, performed by one of the most pleasant voices in the British Isles, informed by Leven's sometimes bitter experiences and always profound stories, finely written and impressively staged.
He began his career in the band Doll By Doll and has been a solo artist since 1994.
His melancholic, biographical songs and his ironic humor, which he demonstrates at his concerts with great stories, have earned him a steadily growing fan base.
The Rockpalast concert was recorded in March 2004 at the Club Harmonie in Bonn and includes highlights from his album 'Shining Brother Shining Sister' as well as the first Jackie Leven hit 'Call Mother A Lonely Field'.
Jackie Leven died on November 14, 2011 at the age of 61 after a serious illness.
