Description
Vocalist Bing Crosby dominated popular music for two decades with over 300 chart successes in America including no less than 38 No. 1 hits. By the late 1940s and early 1950s, his hits were becoming less frequent. He was still recording quality songs from shows and films which were relevant to the story of the vehicle but which perhaps lacked hit parade potential. The tracks on this CD include some of that material and none of the 27 tracks have been previously issued in a digital form before.
There are songs from several of Bing's films - Riding High, Mr. Music, Just For You, Little Boy Lost, The Country Girl plus versions of So In Love from Kiss Me, Kate, The Yodel Blues from Texas, Li'l Darlin', The Best Thing For You from Call Me Madam and Ohio from Wonderful Town.
Bing visited France several times in the early 1950s and recorded a compilation of French songs which became his first concept album - Le Bing. This 10' record has never been re-released and four songs are included here.
