For me the most significant thing about this recording project, which is my second so far, is that it includes pieces I wrote and arranged myself, played by my own band. After singing for 20 years with LOS VAN VAN of Cuba, now I'm very humbly trying to keep believing in my dream and living it by writing my own music the way I learned at the side of the great JUAN FORMELL. He used to say to me, 'Mayito, what makes a true artist is creating your own musical legacy. Write down everything that occurs to you, and you'll be happy and satisfied.'
