It may be a bi- product of youth worship in Western culture whereby people (artists) become less interesting as they age.\u003cbr\u003eAngelica Sanchez is in that middle period, and this collection of music belies a developmental stage of broadening and depth. There is a patience and confidence exhibited in all of the musicians on this date that results in a strong, expressive, and coherent modern artifact. In an age where many tend to sample music in coffee spoons, a complete listening of this album offers infinitely greater rewards. There is much to savor here, and the arc of the album is impressive, lending itself to the book reading process rather than the CliffNotes version (1). In listening to the entire album, dynamics, touch, and innate lyricism are constantly confirmed within compositions with large amounts of open-form improvisation.
