There are few sounds in old time music more beautiful than the strange melding of the disparate voices of Darby and Tarlton over the smooth tones of the latter's slide guitar. These two country singers who recorded scores of 78's as a duo during the 20's and 30's embraced the style of rural Blues singers to wonderful effect .Tarlton's eerie falsetto and stunning slide guitar alongside Darby's bluesy vocals make for a heady mix of influential early roots music.
