Elegy - Principles Of Pain (CD)
Release Date: 05/05/09
Re-release of the band's master piece from 2002.
Elegy - symphonic/prog metal band from Holland. Re-release of the band's masterpiece from 2002. It was the first Elegy album fully produced Ian Perry. Recorded in Madrid in Jan/Feb' 2002, the album was supported by a video clip filmed on the Caribbean Island of Aruba. 'Principles of Pain' was technical in a Progressive Power metal style, containing 2 ballads, 2 Neo-Classical up-tempo double bass drum tracks, and many mid-tempo melodic metal tracks, with catchy chorus lines. Much to the fans' surprise 'Missing Persons' features former vocalist Eduard Hovinga in duet with Parry. It's an action packed metal album bursting with musical craftsmanship and extraordinary songwriting, and perhaps one of metal's most underrated CD's of the last decade. After receiving rave reviews worldwide, Elegy were invited to play at the Rock Machina festival 2002 in Spain, performing for more than 10,000 fans. Later in 2003 Elegy made its debut in the USA playing at the Brave Words magazine festival in Cleveland Ohio. Over the years Elegy managed to grow and refresh, crystallizing their direction, getting more complex without losing sight. Even though the music is packed with breathtaking breaks and high speed guitar outbursts, the song always came first. Recognizable and well arranged. New digipack edition includes 5 bonus tracks. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process, limited to 1000 copies.
