This great-value 58-track 2-CD set focuses entirely on his singles output during the first fifteen years or so of his career during which his reputation was established and he had his biggest hits, from his early singles for the Gold Star label in 1948, and through his years with the Four Star label, when he had his initial hits, including the country No. 1 'Let Me Be The One', until he joined RCA in 1953for whom he had his major successes. It naturally features the thirteen country and pop hits he had during this period, including, as well as those mentioned above, 'From Here To There To You', 'Geisha Girl', 'It's A Little More Like Heaven' and 'Happy Birthday To Me', and comprises the majority of his A sides during that time with a good sprinkling of selected B sides as well.
