A fun collection of outstanding comedy highlights! SLAPSTICK - Slapstick, a school of comedy that has all but vanished from the movie screens of today. Often imaginative, always fast and furious, slapstick, more than any other kind of movie made the most of the possibilities and the impossibilities of cinematography. This hysterical film features a variety of clips from the silent screen's funniest men. THE CLOWN PRINCES OF HOLLYWOOD - Among the comedians whose different styles and personalities are examined in this very funny film are Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Larry Semon, Charlie Chase, Laurel and Hardy, Ben Turpin and Billy West. THE STOLEN JOOLS - The last film in this outstanding collection was made by the National Vaudeville Artists (NVA) Tuberculosis Sanatorium as part of a charity campaign and distributed free to theatres in 1931. After the showing a live speaker would come out and request donations. The film was rediscovered in 1972 in Britain, where it had been released in 1932 as The Slippery Pearls, one of the Masquers Club comedy series for RKO. Subsequently a U.S. print was discovered and the film's true title, origin and purpose were at last known. This film features a veritable who's who of 1930s Hollywood royalty including Laurel and Hardy, Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, Buster Keaton, Our Gang, Edward G, Robinson, Jack Hill, J. Farrell MacDonald, George E. Stone, Eddie Kane, Joe E. Brown, Loretta Young, Gary Cooper, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Eugene Pallette, Stu Erwin, Fay Wray, Bebe Daniels, Mitzi Green, Rochard Barthelmess, Barbara Stanwyck, Richard Dix, Wheeler and Woolsey, Warner Baxter, Hedda Hopper, Victor McLaglen, Fifi D'Orsay and dozens of others.
