Influenced by the success of Frankie Lyman & The Teenagers, The Mello-Kings were formed by two brothers Bob and Jerry Scholl with their buddy Eddie Quinn. Adding Neil Arena singing baritone and Larry Esposito singing bass the boys were hot and ready to go! The Five Satins however, led by Fred Parris found a great deal more success and lasted in various permutations until the end of the century. Following a number of unsuccessful singles for minor labels they finally hit the big time with a Fred Parris penned song 'In The Still Of The Night' (featured here) which truly became a Doo Wop classic
