Monmouthshire And Brecon Canal (DVD)
Release Date: 10/26/10
The South Wales Valleys underwent a dramatic transformation at the end of the 18th century to become one of the hotbeds of the Industrial Revolution as the demand for iron skyrocketed. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal was built to transfer the iron to the sea where it would be shipped across the globe. This canal, from the Brecon Beacons Mountain Range down to the Bristol Channel, is one of the immense engineering feats of the early 19th century. It can still be followed through some of the most spectacular scenery in the country from its basin in Brecon all the way to Newport.
