A privileged glimpse of a hard-working bluesman
Few modern artists have taken the Blues to more places that Otis Grand. He learned his craft in the clubs of Oakland California and made some impressive contacts - his first (1988) album was produced by Joe Louis Walker. This live set was recorded at a regular gig in a regular English town but it's world class, catching Otis and his then regular band playing as if they were at the most important gig of their lives... This is the real deal - tough blues played by a master and filmed and presented to professional standards. It's a little piece of blues history - and great fun to watch and enjoy. Watch for yourself and you will see this: this film - and it deserves to be called a film - is the equal of any high budget contemporary TV production or slick promo video.
