At the ripe age of 64 this Latin American artist has finally released his first album under his own name.
'La Voz del Son' possesses an unusual maturity; it profits from the wide experience which Tiburon has accumulated in the course of his long career as a musician. At the age of fifteen he was leader of his uncle Ramon Benitez' sonora (= son group). In the 70s he made friends with the pianist and composer Adalberto Alvarez. The two artists first worked together in a formation called Avance Juvenil, and then in 1978 they founded Son 14. This is his debut solo album: at the ripe age of 64 this Latin American artist has finally released his first album under his own name, with authentic, laid-back music which expresses strongly the joie de vivre of his fellow-countrymen.
