Description

Previously unreleased Swing and ballad broadcast tracks by Britain's all-time favourite Easy Listening vocalist.

UK collection of previously unreleased Swing and ballad broadcast tracks by Britain's all-time favorite Easy Listening vocalist. The gently swinging 'Just in Time' backed by legendary guitarist Bert Weedon and his quartet is just one example of the delights on this disc. Likewise the Ken Jones Five back Matt on a wide range of songs including the second version of 'The Heart of a Man'. Duets with June Marlow (of The Stargazers) 'Flattery' and 'I Remember it Well' score highly on rapport. These 2 songs come from Saturday Club broadcast in 1959 on the BBC Light Programme. Bill McGuffie was the pianist and his trio back on amongst others the jaunty 'French Poodle'. The big emotional ballads are well represented with 'Somewhere', 'In the Still of the Night' and 'Exodus'. All in all a charming reminder of what Matt Monro was all about.
