In this modern age it seems many of us have little to no time available to actually live our lives; where many people feel they are living to work when in fact, it should be the reverse. On this, his latest release, Tony Young explores his own personal experiences with the daily grind; and has written ten tracks that are inspired by trifle annoyances and the little things that patch up these minor wounds.

'Makeshift Splint' is a remarkably more electronically inspired album that draws influence from a variety of genres. Trademark emotive pads are littered with 80's synth nuances and pop sensibilities, all wrapped up within touches of an IDM framework; and in a lot of respects culminate one of his most accessible releases in many a year, with key hooks along the way to sooth the pain and provide a brief respite from toil.
