The new album contains a collection of five works by Pièces de clavecin en concerts (1741) by Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764), also known as a music theorist. âEn concertsâ in this case refers to a band, Rameau says he got the idea for some very successful clavier sonatas with violin accompaniment, probably from Mondonville and La Guerre, but took the instrumental requirements even further. Couperin's 'Royal Concerts', Concerts royaux, may also have served as a model.
