THE HOWLING VOID is no big surprise for connoisseurs of the band. It is epic doom metal with a lot of atmosphere, means omnipresent keyboard layers. Personally, I still miss the growling from the early days as the songs have been more dynamic and monolithic in these days. NYSS play black metal in an experimental manner off the beaten track. With their complexity and energy, they are a kind of progressive contrast program to THE HOWLING VOID.
