Pablo Bobrowicky, an Argentine guitarist, was discovered by Red Records, for which he recorded four albums as a leader over a period of about 15 years. His expressiveness, though influenced by ethnic folk suggestions and Latin American atmospheres, fits perfectly in the groove of the great tradition of bop and post-bop guitar, with the classic reference points of Jim Hall - whose pupil Pablo was for about two years - Kenny Burrell and Grant Green. The album is perfectly balanced between snappy reinterpretations of jazz standards, original tunes and Latin American suggestions.
