Balkan Taksim is the Bucharest-based multi-instrumentalist Sașa-Liviu Stoianovici who, along with his electronica producer companion Alin Zăbrăuțeanu, explores traditional music of the Balkans, ancient Romanian music and Slavic cultures. They meet local musicians to record the traditional tunes that they later rework with contemporary electronica sounds, heavy bass and powerful beats.
