After his sensational debut as a young violin virtuoso at the Leipzig Gewandhaus in 1804, Louis Spohr took up the post of 'Konzert and Kapellmeister' at the Court of Gotha the following year. Exploring works by the composer from this period, violinists Antje Weithaas and Mila Georgieva perform Spohr's music together with cellist Michael Sanderling and the Thuringian State Symphony Orchestra Gotha.
