Description
Years of delivering the goods culminate in this masterly and compelling album.
Lowell Fulson's classic sides had come in the 1950s and '60s, but even a good 20 years later he could still cut it, as this disc shows. He's ably supported by Eddie C Campbell on second guitar and John Altman on saxes with the excellent John Dummer on drums. If Fulson had lost anything in two decades (we're inclined to think not), he'd gained huge experience and had moved with the times. His guitar playing is as incisive as ever - Lowell's Jump is notable - while his singing has a rough, homespun authority. Eminently listenable, with some tracks like Come Back Baby, timeless.
JSP's SACDs have a Super Audio Surround Sound layer but are compatible with all CD players for a regular CD Price.
