Description
Two Fine Guitarists. One Great Album
This is a crank it up, play it loud and hard record. But it's not an uptempo rave up item - the songs and instrumentals are modern, thoughtful, 'interesting' and creative. But it's not soul or rock masquerading as blues, it's blues with the influences and the passing of the musical years showing on the outside... There are some bores who will say that the blues is done. Nonsense. There's a huge pool of real blues talent out there still - it's certain idiot labels and producers who are responsible for the boring records coming out! And are not the same old issues and situations still there, stirring the soul, creating the pain, making life interesting but troublesome' Two guitar masters play here - different roots, directions, social milieux maybe ... but two masters. Lucky - the deep bluesman - a unique style, honed perfected. Andy - a versatile stylist adept at a wide variety of approaches and genres who brings his own character and personality. Lucky, as everyone must know, started as a child prodigy under Willie Dixon's wing and has developed into 'the man who would be king' - perhaps hovering with Joe Louis Walker as numbers 2 and 3 on the greasy pole of blues stardom behind Buddy. Andy Aledort is the 'guitar player's guitarist'. He has performed and recorded with some of the greatest on the current blues and rock scene: the Allman Brothers, Paul Rodgers, Double Trouble, Edgar Winter - the list is virtually endless. He's one of that select few - the A-list guitarist. Add to that Andy's second career as journalist and guitar instructional whizz and you have a formidable talent. Google him. You'll be amazed at his variety and prodigiousness of his gifts. And Bruce Feiner produced. He's a songwriter, sax player and piano player without whom this album would not have happened. This is an album recorded because all involved wanted to make it - not to fulfill a contract, or for the cash but because creative people believe they have something to offer.
