The first time commercially released in any format, this CD contains songs from the 1948 movie version of the Sigmund Romberg and Dorothy Fields stage musical 'Up in Central Park'. Performed by the stars of the film Deanna Durbin and Dick Haymes, with the addition of the studio cast recording sung by Jeanette MacDonald and Robert Merrill, also appearing on CD for the first time.
Deanna Durbin was America's biggest box office star in 1948 when she made the film musical 'Up in Central Park' supported by leading man Dick Haymes, who was also big at the box office. Although both stars recorded their songs for the filming, these recordings were never commercially issued and Sepia Records is delighted to release them re-mastered for the digital era. Also included are songs from a studio cast recording performed by another top Hollywood star Jeanette MacDonald, also appearing on CD for the first time. This will be a treat for fans of Deanna Durbin, Dick Haymes, Jeanette MacDonald, Hollywood musicals, sound track enthusiasts and stage musicals.
