Description
Freddie Steady's Wild Country "Lucky 7" from Texas Music Hall of Famer Freddie Steady Krc. Early Americana recorded in 1986. An intoxicating blend!
Freddie Steady's Wild Country 'Lucky 7' is the first solo record by Texas Music Hall of Famer and founding member of legendary Austin, TX Power Poppers The Explosives. Recorded in London in 1986, released in the USA in 1987 and in England in 1988. It's one of the first examples of what is now called Americana music. Recorded outside of London at Cherry Studio in Croydon, Surrey. Produced by bandleader/songwriter/singer/guitarist Wes McGhee. Engineered by Sex Pistols sound engineer Dave Goodman. Some of England's top musicians are on the sessions. BJ Cole, Geraint Watkins, Bob Loveday, John Gordon and more. Recorded in four days. This record has the feel missing from so many recordings today. An intoxicating mix of Rock, Country, Blues, R&B, Cajun and Zydeco. Like a pot of Louisiana gumbo. Yum, yum, gimme some.
