On the London Acoustic Set” many of the songs that made Carmen Souza world-famous in the last few years are presented in their reduced, original versions: Carmen Souza playing acoustic guitar and Theo Pas‘cal on bass or percussion instruments. The rough drafts of the songs develop a special tension and power, allowing Carmen Souza‘s extravagant voice to dazzle in all its shades. Most of the pieces on the London Acoustic Set” CD were recorded during a concert that was staged in the renowned world music club Green Note” in London. Others were taken from a performance in the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Besides the songs of her celebrated albums Ess ê nha Cape Verde (2005), Verdade (2008) and Protegid (2010) they included also a version of Sous le ciel de Paris” that Edith Piaf made immortal.
