Description

Dirty South Revolutionaries come from the filth and sultry heat of the city streets of Charlotte, NC. From their DIY punk roots to their hardcore virtues of integrity and brotherhood and their many metal and death influences bringing heavy vocals and booming double-bass, DSR eclectically blends music's most hard-hitting genres. This is a band whose live show will blow you away, and their debut album Queen City Underground will leave you hungry for more. Dirty South Revolutionaries came together in the winter of 2004 in Charlotte, NC. Each member had been in other high-profile local bands based out of the queen city, but none had found their real niche in the scene before DSR. Moss and Pete had a long-standing friendship that helped to solidify their places in the band. Though at first vying for the position of lead singer, no one could have imagined the power that would come from their dueling vocals when they decided to work together. Steven Stoner and Adam Lane were there from the start, Steve fresh from a band break-up and Adam entering into DSR as a side project. Over the first year and a half DSR endured constant member changes. For a while there was anywhere from three to seven members on stage at any given show. The line-up was finalized in January 2006 with the addition of Jim Taddeo on bass guitar, whose readiness to play brought a new bout of energy to the band. With new members and new songs DSR focused on honing their craft with impressive live shows, and in February of 2006 went to legendary Charlotte venue The Milestone to watch American Distress. After bumming the band's equipment for an impromptu after-show set, DSR took American Distress (including former Choking Victim drummer and Tent City Records owner Skwert) to a typical Charlotte afterparty at the South Side Punx house. Apparently, one night of the band's antics and a short demo was all it took to convince the label that a recording session was in order, and six months later the album was rendered. Birthed of the eclectic influences of DSR's unique members, spawned from the filthy streets of Charlotte, NC, prepare to have your ears assaulted by the sweet sound of Queen City Underground
