Born Daniel Wood, a pop star in the early '60s, Daniel moves to Paris to become Danielle Du Bois, a millionairess socialite who mixes with mover-shakers of the era like Brigitte Bardot, Pierre Cardin, Serge Gainsbourg and Michel Legrand. John's real-life friend British model and actress April Ashley was one of the first British people to have had sex reassignment surgery and in turn the first to be 'outed as transgender' by a national newspaper back in 1961 by red top rag The Sunday People. John has used her incredible story as the inspiration for fictional character Danielle Du Bois. 'It's a whirlwind English pop album, befitting a very English pop culture icon.
