Their just-finished debut album, Birdseed Shirt, capitalizes on the EP's stylistically diverse pop, but expands to include a palate of odd-time grooves, dubby textures, and ghostly arrangements. Painstakingly recorded over the last year with the help of J. Robbins (Burning Airlines) and Lynn Skell (The Rude Staircase), Birdseed Shirt vibrates with color, instilling what the Washington Post's Aaron Leitko calls an 'autumnal stoner vibe.' Dan Scheuerman's irony-rich lyrics seek the small truths of white lies-exploding gestures, miscommunications, and malapropism into stark statements on intimacy and its lack.
