Description
A musical journey of music from the 1500s revitalized and filtered adding contemporary sounds drawing inspiration from the 70s progrock and Eno
The Sardinian multi-instrumentalist Enzo Favata is a very versatile musician with at least one leg in the old music from the 16th and 17th centuries as well as new and modern jazz in small and large groups. Here, in many ways, the musicians are faithful to the old music, but it is exciting to hear how they move the music into our time along the way, how the music gives a hint to famous prog rock bands as well as Hassell and Eno.
The trio takes us musically back to the 1500s, but adds contemporary sounds and manage to merge the spirit of ancient music with contemporary electronics, putting together the lessons of John Hassell, Brian Eno, psychedelic music with echoes of Pink Floyd and some early Genesis guitar sounds, all blended with a skillful jazz improvisation conveying a mystical musical landscape.
