'Consume Red' is a chance to re-experience Otomo Yoshihide's pre-minimal phase, and catch the extraordinary Ground Zero in full flight. A single squalling blast from an ancient sounding horn is gradually overlaid with a steadily building sound-collage of sampled noise static, guitar overload, instrumental anarchy, and a drum duo who hammer home a beat that is subtly constructed yet relentless in its attack. All this builds up at an incredibly leisurely pace, climaxing with an incredible bout of industrial feedback sampling from Otomo.
