'Star of the Sea' is inspired by authentic texts and song forms from Persia, Croatia, 13th century Galicia and the musical legacy of the Spanish Jews: elements that the duo Stellamara have refined into delightful compositions, which are essentially carried by vocals, percussion and acoustic string instruments. Songs such as 'Maris', 'Kereshmi' or the unruly 'Oj Jabuko' need not shy away from comparison with works by established greats of the mystically lyrically oriented pop idiom.
