Description
Cantatas: Sacred Music in Thuringia restores Lutheran sacred music around 1700 from the remarkable Grossfahner discovery in sound.
Andrei Gavrilov decided in 2020 to entrust the Da Vinci record company, in collaboration with his Unzipped Classical Music, the return album after a few years of absence from the world of recording. The volume, dedicated to Mussorgsky and Schumann, greeted by a great success, is followed today by the second stage of an articulated recording project. Gavriov explains: 'From song to silence, the emotions and imagination of the artist, right down to the depths of his soul, are contained in the word' Music '. The great musical literature is the most effective means and at the same time it is the preservation of the composer's own soul. My new series of 'conscious recordings', which is ultimately the means of transmitting these concepts, is titled 'Music as a Living Consciousness.'_x000D_The second volume of the series presents masterpieces by four great Masters: in the spirit of the series, the heart of this volume is represented by the great Sonata in B minor by Franz Liszt, a real intimate self-portrait of the Maestro. The disc contains two very unified Beethoven sonatas in expressing a drive towards a more advanced language, interpreter of the composer's soul. Likewise, Mozart's Fantasia describes traits of the Musician's personality, incorporating them with the ever-evolving Viennese language. The volume closes with Racmaninov's magnificent Elegy n.3, a piece steeped in nostalgia, distant echoes of youth, hope and love.
