Marlos Nobre is considered by many to be the greatest living Brazilian composer State of Sao Paulo. He is one of the most prominent composers of our time. Throughout his years in Recife, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, Nobre was able to find a common ground between Brazilian popular music and the European traditional schools. He is not a nationalistic composer, but a composer who embraces his originas as part of his musical formation. Having composed over 130 works - from large orchestral to miniatures - the piano has been at the core of his musical production. He has won an innumerous number of awards, including the 6th Tomas Luis de Victoria Prize for the totality of his output. Pianist Clelia Iruzun's interpretations illuminate our understanding of this important composer.
