A record of standards interpreted in an all-too-traditional way, but in which the work's owner, Angelo Adamo, has the characteristics of a good storyteller: he plays a little-used instrument - the harmonica - and does so with great care and creativity. But although the presence of excellent collaborators and excellent guests ennobles the work, its qualitative core is offered precisely by Adamo, who offers with his chromatic harmonica interpretations that are strongly expressive in sound and highly sophisticated in improvisation. A follower of Thielemans (whom he expressly thanks in the disc notes) and a pupil of Willi Burger, the harmonica player lines up a series of remarkable performances.
