'Pain of Ordeals' is a 2015 underground hip-hop release by underground rap group B.L.A.C.C. Heart, issued via 360 Sound And Vision. It exists as a 2015 EP/album (notably pressed on a limited-edition hand-numbered vinyl run of 50 copies and on limited-edition CDs & CDRs) and features the distinct title ('Pain of Ordeals'), which is a name of a track that also appears on their 2013 project [Lost Tapes]. THE PLUTO CONNECTION - In July 2015, NASA's New Horizons spacecraft captured its historic, close-up images of Pluto, revealing a massive, distinct 'heart-shaped' region on the dwarf planet's surface. Because the independent NYC record label 360 Sound and Vision was preparing to drop B.L.A.C.C. Heart's Pain of Ordeals EP just two months later (September 15, 2015), they leaned into the cosmic coincidence. The label humorously issued a press release claiming that Pluto's heart was a 'universally coordinated, grass-roots marketing campaign, designed by the galaxy' to promote the upcoming underground rap album. The label pointed out that the iconic Pain of Ordeals album art-which forms an inverted, stylized heart structure-was finalized and shared as early as 2013. Since the imagery predated the New Horizons photos by two years, they joked that the cosmos itself was mimicking B.L.A.C.C. Heart's street-centric imagery on a planetary scale.
