In the everlasting quest to find the most sincere and fresh projects out there, Dunkelheit has unearthed yet another gem: Bälzemäd. Consisting of Acipenseridae and his wife, the project is founded on highly personal and emotional observations and ruminations that offer a deep and intense experience to the listener.

Resulting from personal life experiences, Acipenseridae has been operating on the margins of Noise for quite some time, handing out self-released records to close friends and scene contacts, mostly in a face to face situation. This old school approach, which stands in stark contrast to the modern spamming of digital releases, suits the sounds of Bälzemäd perfectly. „Verschleiß durch Abrieb' is described as Harsh Noise Wall by the project itself, but one will quickly notice that this term is way too restrictive for the material. There is a grittiness one has come to know from other German acts and a kind of evolving flexibility that stands diametrically opposed to the uninspired no effort approach of lesser artists.

In many ways, Bälzemäd proves that there is still a genuine underground that is thriving outside of the bland world of Bandcamp links and Facebook spamming. „Verschleiß durch Abrieb' works both as a tasty showcase for no-bullshit Harsh Noise as well as a documentation of the most personal themes of human nature, such as love, despair and illness. Performed and recorded in january 2025 with self-built instruments and effect pedals at Studio of Vomit Chambers IV.III by Patrick and Isabella Randerath. Verschleiß durch Abrieb was created while the main instrument generated abrasion and lost substance. Bälzemäd stands for transience and pure nihilistic blackness. Everything wears out...
