Description
Captures the musical mood of Last Train To Lhasa but instead of being concerned with Tibet, the focus is on humanity's globally precarious predicament
Banco de Gaia's Farewell Ferengistan captured the musical spirit and mood of his Last Train To Lhasa album but instead of being concerned with the situation in Tibet, the focus was on humanity's globally precarious predicament. Musically the mixture of exotic and urbane we have come to expect from Banco, the album varies from downtempo, mellow and reflective to percussive, upbeat and insistent, taking inspiration from Kazakhstan, Mongolia and India as well as the authors Philip K Dick and Rudyard Kipling.
The limited edition, numbered and physical-only 20th Anniversary Edition features the lovingly re-mastered original album, plus a second disc of remixes: some are from the time (Androcell, Bombay Dub Orchestra and Chlorophil), some were created afterwards (Levente) while others were made specially for this release (Dream Cycle Inc., Simon Power, Andrew Heath, Sudden Reverb, The 220 Project, Professor Chill and Mildreda).
