The Songs of Gerry Rafferty sang by Scotland's international singing star.
In early 2013 Barbara and Troy set to work on a new studio album for Greentrax, featuring a collection of songs by her late friend, the songwriter Gerry Rafferty, who died in 2011. The album is very important to Barbara to keep alive the memory and awareness of the prodigious talent that was Gerry Raffertyâ; the fundamental motivation behind this album and the hope that it would come to fruition. Barbara says, âGerry Rafferty, was, for me, amongst the best songwriters of his generation. This is subjective of course, but his catalogue stands to attention when his name is called, in the pantheon of great artists of the last 50 years and âBaker Streetâ alone made him a worldwide household name.â Ian Green of Greentrax Recordings was immediately excited by the project and gave full support to Barbara and Troy. Troy Donockley absolutely dedicated himself to the project and not only produced the album but also played a host of instruments on it. Session musicians were Christine Waldock, Frank Van Essen, Neil Drinkwater, Nick Holland, Brad Lang, Russell Field and Andy Dinan
