Description
Soprano Summit was one of the finest regularly working jazz bands in existence
Soprano Summit was one of the finest regularly working jazz bands in existence during the 1970s. With Bob Wilber and Kenny Davern (on clarinets and sopranos) inspiring each other, their music was consistently exciting. On this particular release acoustic guitarist Marty Grosz is a major asset while bassist George Duvivier and drummer Fred Stoll are fine in support of the lead voices. Four of the dozen songs performed for this album are Wilber originals and they all fit into the genre of small-group swing. Very enjoyable music.
