Description

Drone meets spaghetti western, Frye's first solo album is dark and mysterious.

Armed with a Reverend baritone guitar, a Fender Champ tube amp, a solar powered generator, and a pedal board, Brad Frye hiked out to remote locations around Albuquerque, NM to record his first solo album. Partially composed, but mostly improvised, this is stripped back and minimal guitar-centric instrumental music. Drone meets spaghetti western. Frye set up a Zoom H6 recorder to capture the ambient natural sounds of the New Mexican landscape. Birds, trains, rivers, wind, insects, and animals are heard throughout the songs.
