The Brew Quartet revisits the well-known Gary Burton Quartet format from the 80's, with saxophone and vibraphone as the lead voices.
Brew 4et were born in 2016 from the desire to explore,
through different timbres and instruments, the sound in its
stratification deposited through listening. The passion for
music and jazz encouraged the research of Giuseppe Giroffi
on saxophones, Gianluca Manfredonia on vibraphone, Luca
Varavallo on double bass and Alex Perrone on drums to
move more and more towards the creation of a sound
confusion in which tradition and contemporaneity mix
vividly, embracing a broad spectrum musical culture that
never ceases to be in contact with the essence and nature of
sound. In 2018 they participate in various jazz festivals,
including Think Jazz, Jazz Flirt and JazzIt Fest. In 2021
they record their first album, entirely focused on unreleased
compositions. In the same year they participate in the Val
d'Agri Jazz Festival. Currently the ensemble has allready started working on
their second album.
