Charlie Mariano performed and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Elvin Jones and many others; after living and working in Asia for years, he did collaborations with the highly acclaimed Karnataka College of Percussion and Rabih Ahou-Khalil; his ensemble 'Embryo' eventually opened new ways in Ethno Ruck. And the story continues. However. in all those different constellations and cooperations the sound of Mariano's saxophone did, does and will remain always his very personal and unique one - smooth, warm and lyrical.
