Description
By the 1920's the rise of Jazz from its birthplace in New Orleans had spread across all of America's major urban areas. With it's huge club scene controlled by gangsters and fuelled by bootleg liquor, the city was a melting pot for aspiring Jazzers both Black and White. These tracks provide a perfect introduction for the sounds of small units performing in Chicago for anyone enthralled by the BBC's recent Jazz Series.
